I am actively developing and improving this App based on user requests combined with my own product roadmap. If you think of a feature that you would like to see added to a future release please send me a note and  if possible I will include it in a future release. Features that are currently in development include:

• New Settings Screen. Remove Sales Tax Option from being within Margin Calculator and make it clear that Sales Tax, when switched on, applies to all Retail / Sell prices.

Overview

Calculate margin percentage, cost price or sale price by simply entering any two of the variables. In addition this calculator will also display the cash profit and mark-up percentage and amount of sales tax due (if this feature is switched on).

The discount screen takes data from the margin calculator (if any available) and using a slider, enables you to apply a discount percentage. In real time you can see the effect of this on your margin percentage as well as the amount of cash profit you are making at a specific discount percent. In addition the Discount tool displays the discounted sale price and amount of discount that you are giving in cash terms. If enabled, sales tax is accounted for within these calculations too.

The MultiPack screen has been added in version 3.1 to meet the needs of retailers who buy products in volume and then split a “pack” to sell individual, or small numbers of units. This screen enables you to specific how many units are purchased at set price and how many units are sold at a set price. Gross Margin is then calculated. In addition profit is calculated on the basis of one retail unit being sold and also the profit generated from one buying pack. Values from MultiPack are integrated into Discount and Margin Calculator. Please note that when these values are passed they are shown as the value for a single item. When passed back to MultiPack they are multiplied back up.

Sales tax is enabled or disabled via a settings screen accessed from the main Margin Calculator screen. You have the ability to switch the feature on or off as well as setting the sales tax (VAT) percentage that is applicable to your region.

Currency values are formatted based on the region settings of your device.

Available Settings

• Currency format is based on the Regions settings of your device. This is accessed through the Apple provided “Configuration” App
• Sales Tax (VAT) can be included or excluded within the App
• Sales Tax (VAT) percentage rate can be specified within the App
